DevOps Engineer

The DevOps Engineer plays an important role at Baxter Planning Systems by providing hardware, software and network support to the company. The engineer will use their technical skills to also provide guidance and support to internal and external employees on a wide variety of technical issues.

Purpose, Scope and Responsibilities

  • Work with DevOps team to design, test, and deploy maintainable systems
  • Identify and solve problems impacting critical business operations and develop automation to prevent reoccurrence
  • Assist in the development of continuous integration, delivery, and automation tools
  • Maintain Linux environments including OS updates, software deployment, script creation, and backups
  • Design and maintain monitoring and alerting for production systems and services
  • Identify necessary hardware and software upgrades and make recommendations
  • Maintain comprehensive inventory of corporate hardware and licensed software
  • Ensure network connectivity on corporate LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure
  • Maintain network security via corporate firewall, anti-malware, and user training
  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux server environments via CLI
  • Maintain and ensure proper backups of all critical data
  • Provide desktop support to staff as needed
  • Provide after-hours, on-call support for employees and customers as needed

Job Requirements

    • Working knowledge of DevOps principles and practices
    • Linux administration experience (CentOS and Ubuntu preferred)
    • Scripting knowledge (Bash, Python, Ruby)
    • Experience with continuous integration and delivery using Jenkins
    • Working knowledge of orchestration and configuration management tools
    • Experience with cloud providers and their APIs (AWS preferred)
    • VMWare administration experience

Supply Chain Planner

The Supply Chain Planner is the first level of support to customers and plays a critical role in delivering value by helping to reduce inventory while simultaneously improving service levels. Utilizing a combination of Baxter Planning Systems’ supply chain planning software and Best Practices, planners work to optimize and automate complex global supply chain networks. The planning position provides valuable experience that can be leveraged to transition into other roles within the company including implementation, consulting and business development.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact for customers and be ultimately responsible for ensuring they receive exceptional value from planning solutions delivered by Baxter Planning Systems
  • Deliver Planning as a Service (PaaS) solution to customers by performing over 40 activities in 9 practice areas such as:
    • Analyze forecasts and model optimal target stock levels across supply chain networks throughout a product’s life-cycle
    • Optimize inventory levels and approve supply orders based on customers’ specific needs and business constraints
    • Review analytics to intelligently assign and track root causes for each non-optimal fulfillment of demand
    • Use reporting capabilities to illustrate current and projected excess inventory and prioritize candidates for redistribution and scrap
  • Train and mentor new customers on effective utilization of planning solutions based on Best Practices
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement based on Baxter’s Best Practice Scorecard and work with each customer to adopt them by modifying business processes or configuration of the planning tool
  • Create and deliver Business Review presentations to customer’s executive management to track progress on supply chain goals as well as communicate opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop new Best Practices and improve existing ones for delivering planning solutions

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience

Implementation Consultant

The Implementation Consultant works as a consulting team member on projects to implement Baxter Planning Systems’ comprehensive supply chain management software, Prophet by Baxter. The Implementation Consultant is a highly motivated, self-starting professional who helps to implement solutions including consulting services, software configurations, and training services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze customers’ business requirements and technology objectives to meet customers’ business needs
  • Work on single or multi-product projects, usually with multiple computer environments where design is complex
  • Arrange and/or perform integration and implementation tasks to insure the most efficient and productive use of Project Team activities to achieve management goals
  • System configuration, data loading, data migration, and system documentation
  • Identify relevant transactions and document configuration requirements
  • Conduct periodic status checks with customers and team to assess progress against plan
  • Perform re-forecasts of project variables as necessary throughout project
  • Provides training and consulting to customers
  • Identifies issues and risks related to customer data and defines processes and configurations for mitigation
  • Prepare regular status reports on all project activities

Job Requirements

The Java Developer tackles the development challenges in planning optimal stocking levels for tens of thousands of parts distributed across thousands of locations worldwide.
