Site Planning for Prophet(TM) Removes Guesswork from Location
Selection
AUSTIN, TX - (March 1, 2001) - Site Planning for Prophet, designed by
Baxter Planning Systems as a module that enhances Prophet by Baxter(TM), optimizes
placement of warehouses and stocking locations in order to meet strict customer
service contracts and satisfy same-day and next-day response commitments.
Site Planning for Prophet is designed to let companies know in advance where
they will need additional sites to meet their contractual obligations and where
existing sites are no longer needed. This software proactively provides a company
with vital information about its warehouse and stocking locations in order
to avoid potential supply chain and customer service problems.
Site Planning for Prophet plans for 137 countries and offers all airport locations
as potential warehouse stocking locations. The software is designed to let
the user set objectives for each postal code based on a minimum and maximum
number of locations, response commitments and minimum coverage. From these
objectives, Site Planning for Prophet creates worldwide or selected-geography
maps of warehouse locations, as well as detailed maps of customer locations
with zoom in/out capability. In addition, the software provides import and
export information to help determine the necessary number of stocking locations.
