FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Silicon Graphics Selects Baxter Planning Systems
After considering its options in the highly competitive service parts solutions market SGI once again decides to remain with industry leader.
Austin, Texas - May 01, 2006 - Baxter Planning Systems (www.bybaxter.com), the premier provider of aftermarket parts planning solutions, today
announced that Silicon Graphics (NYSE: SGI) has renewed their global service planning solution agreement with Baxter Planning Systems. Due to the high return
on investment and excellent customer service, SGI did not feel it necessary to consider a review of other available solutions.
“Since our last renewal in March 2004, SGI Logistics has further reduced gross inventory by 20%, while maintaining industry-leading fill rates and continuing to exceed
client expectations,” said Kipp Hooper, Materials Manager for Silicon Graphics’ Logistics Planning & Procurement Technology Solutions Group.
“Baxter’s new Prophet by Baxter Control Center module allows for more efficient management of alerts by planners, as well as providing an excellent
visual management overview.”
The enhancements in Prophet’s latest release have targeted greater user efficiencies and improved control of global material deployment and material utilization.
Baxter ensures that their clients benefit from these enhancements by automatically upgrading each client to the latest release of Prophet by Baxter (including training),
a unique attribute that the company has employed since its inception in 1993.
“Silicon Graphics has been an excellent company over the years,” said Greg Baxter, founder and CEO of Baxter Planning Systems. “Being able to consistently deliver
world-class customer service at an affordable cost is becoming increasingly important, and SGI is to be commended for their desire and strategic approach to client
service and satisfaction. Baxter is thrilled to be associated with a class organization like SGI.”
SGI initially selected Baxter Planning Systems in 2002 following an extensive review of software solutions to help manage their customers’ critical service inventories.
Besides helping to lower inventories and improve service levels, Prophet has increased the productivity of SGI planners, reduced costs, and optimized the overall
service parts supply chain.
