June 20, 2005

Optimal Services Group and Silicon Graphics have implemented service parts management solutions from Baxter Planning Systems.

Optimal Services Group is the service division of Optimal Group. The company will use Prophet By Baxter to manage its global inventories. Baxter will be integrated with Optimal's existing systems and be entirely functional by the end of the quarter.

"Optimal Service Group has a prevalent and respected commitment to customer service, and understands the value that Baxter brings to the table," said Greg Baxter, CEO for Baxter Planning Systems. "The Baxter solution will enable Optimal to further strengthen its leadership position in customer service by increasing the company's ability to better manage its service operations."

Silicon Graphics has elected to renew its agreement with Baxter Planning Systems for global service planning tools.

"Baxter has been an excellent partner over the years," said Robert Ferrando, director of Global Service Logistics, SGI. "Being able to consistently deliver world-class customer service at an affordable service logistics cost is extremely important to SGI, its client base and all key stakeholders. Not only is the solution superior, Baxter's approach to customer service, which includes a dedicated planning organization, and overall package made it an easy decision."

SGI initially selected Baxter Planning Systems in 2002. Besides helping to lower inventories and improve service levels, Prophet has increased the productivity of SGI planners, reduced costs, and optimized the overall service parts supply chain.
